Overview

As a Senior/Lead Embedded Linux Software Engineer, you will drive the development of Linux-based software for advanced communication and embedded systems while guiding a small engineering team. You will ship robust user-space apps, system services, and APIs for hardware control, with ownership of code quality and CI/CD workflows. You’ll collaborate across platform and hardware teams to shape the architecture and mentorship culture. This role offers impactful work in a global tech environment with hands-on engineering and leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of Linux user-space applications and system services
  • Develop C/C++ software for configuration, monitoring, and diagnostics
  • Design APIs and services for hardware control and telemetry
  • Provide technical leadership across software architecture and development
  • Conduct code reviews and design discussions
  • Mentor and support a team of 3–4 embedded software engineers
  • Collaborate with platform and hardware engineering teams
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows

Key requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in Linux software development
  • 3–4 years’ technical leadership or mentoring experience
  • Strong C/C++ development in Linux user-space
  • Solid Linux system programming knowledge (POSIX, sockets, multithreading)
  • Experience developing Linux system services or applications
  • Leadership or mentoring experience in small teams
  • Strong Git and CI/CD experience
  • Python or scripting for automation and testing
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is advantageous
  • Experience with embedded Linux, hardware interaction, FPGA-based systems, telecoms or networking platforms is beneficial
