IT Operations Platforms and Security Lead

Overview

In this role you lead global IT operations and security for a commercial insurance environment, ensuring platform stability, security, and efficiency. You will manage a small IT team, coordinate with stakeholders and vendors, and drive operational excellence and transformation projects. The role combines hands-on infrastructure work with governance, cloud strategy, and risk management to align outsourced and cloud services with business goals. You will shape secure, scalable IT platforms in a buy-before-build environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT operations and service delivery to ensure high availability and continuity
• Manage a small IT team, stakeholders, and third-party vendors
• Oversee security, risk management, and regulatory compliance across cloud and on-premises systems
• Define and enforce cloud security policies, IAM, and zero-trust principles
• Lead threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management
• Drive IT transformation projects and platform migrations with minimal business disruption
• Develop and test DR/BCP plans and ensure alignment with governance
• Ensure cost-effective, robust outsourced/cloud services in line with strategic IT vision

Key requirements

• Global enterprise infrastructure experience (last 5 years)
• Strong Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration and design
• IAM expertise (Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, PAM)
• Experience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, SOC2)
• Threat management, SIEM, and endpoint/security tooling
• Vendor and project management, with ability to lead migrations and upgrades
• Network and security administration (Firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN)
• ITIL-based service management and automation
• Windows Server, AD, SQL, and Intune administration
