Overview

In this role, you will advance Standard Life’s Private Markets interests by originating, analysing, and managing securitised and complex credit investments across Infrastructure, Real Estate Debt, and other Private Markets strategies. You’ll work in the Real Assets team within Capital Markets, collaborating with investment and risk teams to optimise risk-adjusted outcomes for a portfolio of assets under administration. The role offers broad exposure to deal structuring, pricing, and ongoing asset management, with opportunities to shape the real assets proposition. This is an excellent path to deepen technical expertise and build market relationships in a front-office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structuring and execution of securitisations (including Equity Release Mortgages and ABS/CLOs) and optimise capital treatment and returns
  • Support ERM pricing and underlying analysis
  • Coordinate with Actuarial, Risk and Capital teams to refine longevity, prepayment, and property-value assumptions within Solvency II and risk appetite frameworks
  • Act as primary structuring lead in cross-functional deal teams, coordinating with Asset Management, Standard Life and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of the asset strategy through planning, MI development and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead pricing and execution of other structured credit and complex transactions to optimise risk-adjusted outcomes
  • Develop cash flow models and investment recommendations to inform decisions
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on pricing tools, financial metrics, and the Standard Life platform to maximise execution efficiency
  • Monitor portfolio performance, risks, and covenant compliance; support asset management and restructuring as needed
  • Contribute to strategic projects, market research and investment insights to enhance investment capabilities

Key requirements

  • Experience in an investment role (buy-side or sell-side) with exposure to Structured Credit and Mortgage investments (Mortgage Solutions, Equity Release Mortgages, Securitisations including ABS/CLO, Asset-Backed Finance and/or Insured Credit)
  • Extensive knowledge of securitisations (ABS, MBS, CLO) and/or ERM & mortgage solutions and related asset pools
  • Strong cashflow analysis skills and understanding of credit fundamentals in asset-backed structures
  • Experience structuring investments within complex regulatory environments
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work while managing multiple workstreams
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong stakeholder management
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with Intex
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
