Asset Risk and Opportunity Manager

Overview

In this role, you will lead continuous improvement in Engineering and Baggage Risk Management, embedding risk and opportunity insights into asset strategies and plans to support Heathrow’s objectives. You’ll translate complex risk data into actionable guidance for stakeholders across the business, shaping maintenance and capital decisions while advancing industry-leading risk practices. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure risk-informed decision-making and governance. Responsibilities

• Manage and assess engineering and baggage risks across cross-functional teams
• Translate technical risk information into clear, actionable insights for executives and operations
• Design and implement risk tools, dashboards, and models to support data-driven decisions
• Lead governance and risk reporting, ensuring accuracy for regulators and auditors
• Provide advisory input into the risk and assurance framework and align with enterprise risk strategy
• Evaluate current risk controls, identify funding gaps, and propose improvements
• Conduct audits and drive continuous improvements to risk management processes
• Coach teams to foster a proactive risk culture and enhance risk capability

Key requirements

• Degree-level education in engineering, asset management, risk management, or related experience
• Extensive experience in asset risk and assurance within complex infrastructure environments
• Strong analytical skills with risk modelling and data visualization
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Proven ability to develop and implement risk frameworks, tools, modelling, and analytics
• Experience coaching and training teams on risk awareness and control effectiveness
