Overview

In this role you will lead earthworks analytics and governance for a major infrastructure programme, establishing a robust assurance framework and single source of truth for material movements. You will integrate contractor data, MTDs, and reporting systems to support delivery, risk management, and stakeholder decision-making. You will work closely with controls, environmental, and delivery teams to drive accurate forecasting and data-driven insights. This role offers the opportunity to shape how earthworks information informs programme strategy and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a programme-wide earthworks and mass haul assurance framework
  • Ensure accurate and consistent earthworks progress, forecasting, and reporting across project areas
  • Monitor key earthworks performance indicators, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Support controls teams with progress reporting, forecasting, and schedule assessments
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and reporting processes
  • Lead management and assurance of Material Tracking Documents (MTDs)
  • Ensure MTDs provide auditable material records and traceability throughout the lifecycle
  • Conduct data reviews, audits, and quality checks of contractor submissions
  • Integrate contractor data, MTDs, GIS, and internal systems into a consolidated reporting environment
  • Develop dashboards and tools for visibility of programme performance
  • Analyse trends and variances to support decision-making
  • Produce regular management reports for senior stakeholders
  • Identify material availability, disposal, and risk-related issues and support mitigation planning
  • Collaborate with controls, environmental, commercial, and delivery teams to support risk-based decisions
  • Engage with contractors and client representatives, facilitating workshops to improve reporting quality and present findings to leadership

Key requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Quantity Surveying, Data Analytics, or related discipline
  • Significant experience in earthworks, mass haul, programme controls, or construction analytics on major infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of earthworks operations and material movements
  • Experience managing Material Tracking Documents (MTDs) or equivalent systems
  • Proven experience developing reporting frameworks and performance dashboards
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Experience interrogating large datasets and identifying trends and anomalies
