Overview
As the most senior digital and data leader, you will set strategic direction for digital, data and technology at the NSTA. You will oversee a directorate of ~30 specialists, ensuring secure, resilient platforms and services while shaping major programmes. Your work spans government, industry and stakeholders to unlock value from data and emerging tech for better regulation and decision-making. This is a mission-driven role at the heart of the UK’s energy transition. You will influence the organisation’s digital future and energy security objectives.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for digital, data and technology functions
- Ensure digital services, data platforms and technology estate are secure, resilient and future-ready
- Lead cyber security, information governance and digital transformation activities
- Oversee delivery of a significant portfolio of digital and technology programmes
- Champion data use, analytics and emerging technologies
- Act as principal adviser and assurance to Board and Leadership Team
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture
Key requirements
- Proven track record leading digital transformation, data strategy or technology delivery at Board/Executive level
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology, cloud, cyber security and data governance
- Experience in managing complex technology-enabled change and risk
- Evidence of stakeholder leadership and influence at senior levels
- Collaborative, inclusive leadership of multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in regulated sectors or public sector is welcome but not essential
