Overview

In this role you own product features end-to-end within a healthcare-focused platform used by GP practices. You collaborate with Product, Design and Clinical teams to shape solutions that are reliable and safe in a clinical context. You will engage with NHS staff and patients to uncover real problems, design scalable architecture, and ensure sustainable system health. This is a mission-driven, product-focused opportunity to advance digital tooling that improves patient communication and care.

Responsibilities

  • Own features end-to-end from problem refinement with clinicians through to architecture, implementation, rollout, and evolution
  • Engage with NHS GPs, practice staff and patients to understand problems via research sessions and practice visits
  • Design architecture and API boundaries with a system-wide perspective
  • Maintain high quality: reliable, intuitive, and safe product in a clinical context
  • Make architectural decisions that sustain the codebase and system health while shipping features
  • Constructively challenge issues and fully commit when decisions are made

Key requirements

  • Experience building production software across the stack (backend or frontend) and ability to own a feature end-to-end
  • Strong ability to reason about systems, break down ambiguous problems, and identify trade-offs
  • Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage problem definition; shape work rather than wait for a spec
  • Treat engineering quality as part of the job: manage technical debt, review AI outputs critically, push for sound architecture
