Overview

In this role you will oversee timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and employee expenses within a European bank. You’ll work in the Finance team to monitor costs, manage AP systems, and prepare KPI and variance analyses to support budgeting and cost control. You will collaborate across internal teams and suppliers, maintaining robust controls to minimise risk and ensure regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to contribute to cost management and process improvements in a banking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyse monthly actual vs. budget cost data
  • Manage cost trend analysis and highlight items with material impact
  • Assist with annual cost budget
  • Update department SOPs regularly
  • Handle supplier queries and internal cost inquiries
  • Prepare monthly KPI reports
  • Manage AP systems (V1, Ebis, Open Accounts) and support system users
  • Arrange employee Barclaycards and processing of corporate card expenses
  • Reconcile AP accounts with the GLO and monitor head office recharges
  • Arrange monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Process journals and monitor AP inboxes
  • Reconcile nostro accounts and process travel advances
  • Supplier statement reconciliation and control execution
  • Identify and escalate risks/control gaps in own area
  • Maintain regulatory knowledge and adhere to risk/compliance policies
  • Act in accordance with FCA/PRA Code of Conduct

Key requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Finance, ideally in banking
  • strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and reconciliations
  • experience with AP systems (V1, Ebis, Open Accounts)
