Overview
As the strategic owner of the Student Researcher Program (SRP) across EMEA, you design and oversee engagement initiatives with PhD talent and academia. You partner with employer brand, research leadership, and global teams to scale the program and align with Google’s research objectives. You will shape the experience for student researchers from onboarding through tenure, and represent SRP at top conferences to foster community and partnerships. This role blends program leadership with deep collaboration across Research, DeepMind, and university partners to drive impact.
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee high-profile engagement initiatives (PhD Summits, university events, conferences, technical sessions)
- Partner with employer brand and technical leadership to position Google as a destination for PhD and research talent
- Build relationships across academic and research ecosystems for long-term talent engagement
- Own end-to-end operational strategy for SRP in EMEA and scale with global counterparts
- Act as strategic partner to Research, DeepMind and Product Area leadership, providing insights on talent trends and SRP health
- Collaborate with Vendor Delivery Specialists (VDS) to ensure timely talent delivery
- Own the EMEA host experience, including training, resources and ongoing support
- Create a high-touch experience for Student Researchers throughout tenure
- Represent SRP at premier conferences and lead strategy for community building and mentorship through an internal PhD Council
- Work with cross-functional teams to align demand with senior leadership and community needs
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of program or project management experience
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships in an organization
