Overview
In this HR Adviser role, you will lead employee relations casework and provide expert, pragmatic guidance to managers. You’ll support organisational change initiatives and ensure fair, legally compliant outcomes. You’ll coach leaders to handle sensitive issues and contribute to a positive employee experience. The role sits in the People Team and shapes how ER and change activities are delivered across the organisation.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end employee relations casework (discipline, grievance, absence, performance, wellbeing)
- Provide risk-based, compliant advice to managers and ensure fair outcomes
- Coach and develop leaders to manage complex people issues
- Prepare high-quality case documentation (outcome letters, investigation reports) and maintain accurate records in the HR case management system
- Identify ER trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk and enhance experience
- Collaborate with HRBPs, legal advisors, occupational health and other stakeholders on high-risk cases
- Support organisational change programmes (restructures, service redesigns, TUPE) and advise on change processes
- Prepare and present consultation materials; attend meetings and support employee engagement during change
- Ensure consistent, compliant application of HR policies and drive continuous improvement in HR processes
- Promote best practice in people management and positive employee experience
Key requirements
- Significant experience in an HR Advisory role with a focus on employee relations
- Proven ability to manage complex ER cases end-to-end
- Experience supporting organisational change and consultation processes
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law related to ER and change
- Strong influencing, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, solutions-focused with ability to manage competing priorities
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is desirable
