Clinical Contract Manager

Overview

As a Clinical Contract Manager, you ensure research activities meet legal, regulatory, contractual, and data privacy standards while guiding the CCA team. You provide expert oversight on clinical agreements and privacy matters to enable compliant study work and safeguard patient data. You act as a trusted advisor to Clinical Operations, supporting start-up and execution with pragmatic, compliant solutions. You lead initiatives to recruit, onboard, and train the CCA team, strengthening contracting processes. This role sits at the intersection of global operations and data protection, shaping compliant, efficient clinical programs at Ipsen.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert oversight on clinical contracts to ensure regulatory, legal, and data privacy compliance
• Ensure GDPR and data protection requirements are met for studies, registries, and Managed Access Programs
• Advise Clinical Operations teams on contracting and data privacy topics to enable compliant study start-up and execution
• Co-lead recruitment and onboarding for the Clinical Contract Associate team and continuously improve training programs
• Oversee and optimize onboarding, SOP adherence, and process consistency for clinical contracting workflows

Key requirements

• Master’s degree in Law (mandatory)
• Proven experience in clinical contract negotiation and/or data privacy compliance in pharma/biotech/CRO
• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations in clinical research
• Solid expertise in data protection and data privacy
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• French is a plus
