Overview

In this role you will lead planning for multiple projects within the Energy & Natural Resources division, managing schedules, cost, risk and scope to drive on-time, on-budget delivery. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and mentor junior planners, shaping project controls standards. The position supports a nuclear client, offering exposure to high-value, complex works and Integrated Project Controls practices. A strong focus on data-driven decisions and performance reporting will help steer project outcomes and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning for multiple projects or highly complex programs
  • Create, develop and maintain detailed schedules aligned with project requirements
  • Adhere to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for schedule data
  • Assist in developing status reports for management
  • Contribute to Integrated Project Controls standards and processes
  • Define scope with project teams to update schedules and cost data
  • Support project managers with scheduling and task coordination
  • Evaluate schedule progress, identify risks and recovery actions
  • Monitor IMS and project KPIs; report progress to management
  • Mentor and coach planning personnel
  • Ensure timely project progress reviews and reporting
  • Explain and manage float, critical path and constraints to assess changes

Key requirements

  • Professional Project Controls experience focusing on Planning & Scheduling
  • Primavera (P6) and other planning/resourcing software proficiency
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities; ability to influence and coach
  • Experience in leading project teams and fostering inclusion
  • Security clearance eligibility (BPSS)
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make risk-based decisions under uncertainty
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict navigation
