Overview
As Production Engineer for Metal Forming, you will support Crown’s European and Middle East/North Africa sites to enhance quality, cost and efficiency in 2-piece can forming. You’ll work with cross-site teams on coil handling, cupping, bodymaking, necking, trimming and tooling, while promoting SOPs, best practices and cost-reduction initiatives. You’ll deliver training and collaborate with Crown Technology to standardise equipment and processes. The role combines field execution, project work at greenfield sites, and international travel.
Responsibilities
- Support metal forming processes across 12 European sites and 5 MENA sites
- Lead development and standardisation of SOPs, best practices and cost reduction programmes
- Deliver training (classroom and hands-on) on metal forming equipment and processes
- Coordinate with Crown Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements
- Involved in project work at greenfield sites and newly acquired locations
- Oversee coil handling, cupping, bodymaking, necking, flanger, reformation, die sets, tooling and lubricants in forming processes
Key requirements
- Sound engineering background or ONC/HNC/HND or degree level
- Strong 2-piece can engineering and process knowledge
- Safety-minded with proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication across all levels
- Self-starter and strong team player with leadership and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel internationally on short notice and for extended periods
