Production Engineer LSM/Dryer Bevcan EMEA

Overview

In this role you support Metal Finishing across multiple European and Middle East locations, driving improvements in quality, cost and efficiency. You will work with equipment such as Lacquer Spray Machines, Rim Coaters and various ovens, providing operations support and leading improvement projects. You’ll develop SOPs and participate in Lean and sustainability initiatives, sharing best practices with local teams and Crown Technology. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with travel to plants and greenfield sites.

Responsibilities

• Support 12 European and 5 Middle East/North Africa manufacturing sites in metal finishing operations and equipment performance.
• Drive improvements in quality, cost and efficiency across Lacquer Spray Machines (LSMs), Rim Coaters (BRCs & MRCs), Over varnish units (O/V) and associated ovens.
• Provide plant operational support for quality issues; assist in maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting.
• Conduct line operation and technical audits; propose and lead improvement projects.
• Develop and promote SOPs, best practices and cost-reduction programs for regular operation and changeovers.
• Deliver classroom and hands-on training on metal finishing equipment and processes.
• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing and sustainability strategies and materials trials.
• Liaise with Crown Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process standardization; disseminate standards to plant teams.
• Act as ambassador of the company’s operational culture and KPIs to manufacturing teams.

Key requirements

• Strong engineering background with HND or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Solid experience in metal finishing processes and equipment (LSMs, Rim Coaters, Over varnish units, associated ovens).
• Proven problem-solving skills and structured, logical decision-making.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams; leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Computer literate; able to work independently with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
• Willingness to travel internationally on short notice for extended periods; adaptable to different cultures.
