Director, Insurance, Corporate Banking Europe

Overview

In this role you will lead origination, structuring, and execution of financing for UK and European insurance clients. You will manage a portfolio of relationships and own pitch and deal delivery, collaborating with senior colleagues to expand CIBC’s insurance franchise. You’ll work with product partners to present holistic, multi-product solutions. The role sits at the intersection of corporate banking, credit analytics, and capital markets, offering strategic impact across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Deal origination and client coverage leadership
• Own end-to-end pitch materials and client marketing
• Contribute to transaction structuring and credit analysis, review legal docs
• Oversee financial and capital models used for pitching and lending
• Deliver multi-product client solutions leveraging the global platform

Key requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in insurance or banking
• Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, engineering, science, or similar; professional qualifications advantageous
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory frameworks and broader financial products
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to defend recommendations to clients and committees
• Ability to manage multiple live workstreams in a demanding, client-centric environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in solving unstructured problems
