Overview
In this role you will lead transport design packages on major Irish projects across roads, public transport, and greenways. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, people-centered transport solutions that meet client needs and regulatory standards. The position supports your path toward Chartered Engineer through mentoring, training, and direct project exposure. You will work in a flexible, hybrid environment with opportunities to grow and influence significant infrastructure programs across the island of Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities
- Manage and lead design packages from concept to construction on highways, rail, and light rail projects
- Deliver bus infrastructure and greenway/active travel schemes to relevant standards
- Apply UK/Irish design standards (DMRB, DMURS, Cycle by Design, Cycle Design Manual) to create safe transport solutions
- Provide high-quality deliverables within time and budget while meeting client expectations
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with technicians, engineers, and other specialists
- Engage with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders through statutory approvals and design processes
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to continuous learning and development
- Support project commercial management and work-winning processes
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (international equivalents acceptable)
- Progress toward Chartership or Chartered Engineer status
- Post-graduate experience in civil engineering, highways, public transport and greenways, NEC contracts, and contract management
- Knowledge of UK/Irish design standards (DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual)
- Experience with contract documentation for major transport projects (NEC/Public Works Contract) and related specifications
- Knowledge of statutory planning and design approvals in the UK/Ireland (EIA/NIS/CPO)
