Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Overview

In this role you will lead the electrical design delivery on multi-disciplinary building projects within Stantec’s Cardiff MEP team. You will produce high-quality design outputs and help drive project success through timely invoicing, WIP management, and resource planning. You will mentor graduates and apprentices, shaping the development of junior engineers. Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery of electrical design on multi-disciplinary projects
• Oversee production of design deliverables (specifications, drawings, schedules)
• Support project commercial success through invoicing, WIP management, and workload/resource planning
• Mentor junior team members including graduates and apprentices
• Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to ensure integrated design

Key requirements

• Proven Electrical/ Senior Electrical Engineer experience in the UK
• Experience delivering electrical and M&E solutions across building sectors
• Mentored or developed junior colleagues
• Proficient with BIM processes and tools (Revit, Dialux, Elec OM/Amtech)
• Collaborative mindset and experience working with architects and multidisciplinary teams
• Qualifications: HNC/HND/Bachelors or Masters in electrical engineering or building services; Chartered status or working towards it
