As Laboratory Manager, you will lead the Oil, Gas, Chemicals & Environmental lab operations, balancing technical excellence with commercial performance. You’ll drive performance and profitability while developing a high-performing team and ensuring UKAS/HSE compliant, timely sample processing and reporting. Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day laboratory operations ensuring timely sample processing and reporting
• Drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across the lab
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, UKAS requirements, and HSE procedures
• Build strong client relationships and proactively resolve issues
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience with analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation (GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP)
• Proven experience leading and line managing larger laboratory teams including performance management and resource planning
• Experience in a laboratory or technical service environment
• Excellent communication with ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and quality management systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
