Overview

In this role you will serve as the link between trading desks and risk/valuation systems, helping PMs, traders, and quants optimize risk insights. You’ll diagnose and resolve issues across the technology stack, from applications to services, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will develop Python-based tools to automate diagnostics and improve workflows, while building deep knowledge of the firm’s trading and risk infrastructure. This position offers impact by shaping risk tooling and supporting multiple asset classes across global markets. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to drive strategic technology solutions and enable informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with PMs, traders, and quants across multiple asset classes as the main contact for risk and valuation issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in next-generation risk and valuation systems across the full tech stack.
  • Monitor incidents, prioritize by potential impact on trading, P&L, and portfolio management.
  • Escalate to engineering, quantitative, or infrastructure teams with clear, reproducible diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to address recurring problems and drive tech solutions.
  • Develop Python tools to automate diagnostics, analyze data, and improve workflows.
  • Build understanding of the firm’s trading and risk infrastructure and dependencies between systems.

Key requirements

  • Deep knowledge of financial products (cash instruments, futures, swaps, options) and markets.
  • Experience in trade support, trading technology, or production support within a production trading environment.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for investigation, automation, and data reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with production diagnostic tooling (log aggregation, dashboards, monitoring, alerting).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to isolate issues methodically.
