Overview

In this field-based role you drive growth by identifying and securing new opportunities in the manufacturing sector. You will build a robust UK-based pipeline, engage clients through meetings and site visits, and translate customer needs into commercial solutions. You work closely with operations and service teams to deliver proposals and close deals, contributing to revenue targets. This position offers national exposure, autonomy, and a dynamic, fast-paced environment with regular travel.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the manufacturing sector
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective customers
  • Arrange and attend client meetings, site visits, and presentations
  • Develop long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Understand customer requirements and provide suitable commercial solutions
  • Prepare proposals, quotations and commercial presentations
  • Negotiate terms and close new business
  • Collaborate with internal operations, production and customer service teams
  • Monitor market activity, industry trends and competitor developments
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities and forecasts
  • Achieve revenue and business-development targets
  • Attend Liverpool office weekly and travel nationally when required

Key requirements

  • Proven business-development or sales experience within manufacturing
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Strong new-business development and relationship-management skills
  • Confident in approaching prospects and generating opportunities
  • Commercially aware with ability to present effective solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to manage a busy workload
  • Willingness to travel across the UK
