Overview

As Project Director, you drive delivery of complex, major capital projects within the Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework. You lead multidisciplinary teams, shape commercial outcomes, and oversee design and construction lifecycle excellence. You act as the primary interface with clients, manage risk, and champion HSSE and wellbeing. This role combines strategic governance with hands-on leadership to scale our Major Projects capability. You’ll shape the delivery offering and contribute to Stantec’s future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of large-scale capital projects within the AMP8 framework
  • Oversee multidisciplinary project teams and ensure D&C lifecycle excellence
  • Drive commercial performance and risk management across portfolios
  • Act as primary client interface and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Champion health, safety and wellbeing in projects
  • Develop and mentor Project Managers and teams
  • Collaborate with Regional Leadership to implement commercial strategies
  • Contribute to shaping Stantec’s future through new services and capabilities

Key requirements

  • Seasoned project leader with a track record in delivering Major Projects in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong understanding of design for construction and ability to ensure financial outcomes
  • Ideally consultancy experience in the water sector
  • Excellent stakeholder management and HSSE/wellbeing behavior
  • Chartership status with a relevant institution (preferred)
