Overview

In this role you will strengthen Secure Trust Bank Group’s risk management framework and embed a robust risk culture across the organisation. You will partner with senior leaders to identify, assess and report risk, supporting informed decisions and sustainable growth. As a high-profile second line role, you will influence governance, risk appetite and Board reporting to align with strategy and regulatory expectations. You will drive continuous improvement of risk processes and data-driven insights in a collaborative environment. This is a strategic opportunity to shape risk management at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of the Group’s Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework
  • Drive strategic risk management including identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting
  • Strengthen and evolve the Group Risk Appetite Framework in line with business strategy
  • Deliver high-quality risk reporting and insights to support Board and executive decision-making
  • Champion a strong risk culture through engagement, influence and challenge
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities through proactive analysis and thematic reviews
  • Enhance risk management information, reporting capabilities and data-driven insights
  • Support regulatory and governance requirements including ICAAP submissions and Board papers
  • Collaborate with business leaders and risk teams to continuously improve risk processes
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders including CRO, Head of ER, and risk and compliance teams

Key requirements

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, governance and risk appetite concepts
  • Ability to analyse complex information and present clear insights to senior stakeholders and committees
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience within UK financial services, banking or a regulated environment
  • Professional qualification in risk management, accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • Exposure to strategic risk management, regulatory reporting and Board governance processes
