Overview

In this role you will partner with Technology to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, embedding risk management into strategic initiatives. You will provide expert analysis, ensure compliance with the ERM framework and BC management requirements, and promote a risk-aware culture through training. You’ll support risk reporting to leadership and risk committees, helping TP ICAP sustain resilient, compliant operations. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technology to identify and assess material risks across BAU, emerging threats, strategic initiatives, and change programs
  • Support risk assessment activities (RCSA, Top-Down Risk Assessment, Scenario Analysis, Root Cause Analysis)
  • Deliver timely risk insights to inform decision-making
  • Define and review risk appetite thresholds and KRIs, monitor risk against appetite, and recommend actions
  • Assess risks related to strategic initiatives (M&A, new products, ventures) including financial, operational, regulatory, and cultural impacts
  • Review new business requests to ensure risk understood and mitigated
  • Evaluate and challenge adequacy of control and policy frameworks; support remediation and risk acceptance impacts
  • Conduct or support assurance activities, including control testing and targeted reviews
  • Produce MI and analysis on risk appetite, significant events, remediation status, and emerging threats
  • Participate in management meetings and risk committees with second-line oversight
  • Oversee escalation and mitigation of significant events; QA over events, issues, and policy breaches; lead deep dives into events
  • Provide oversight of business continuity plans and crisis response coordination; support remediation planning
  • Deliver risk awareness training and promote risk management practices across Technology

Key requirements

  • Experience in an Operational Risk program within a medium to large financial institution
  • Ability to collaborate with technology teams on system security, incident response, and data protection
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent professional certification
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and operational risk frameworks
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to present data clearly
  • Effective project management and prioritisation in high-demand environments
  • Strong communication skills across technical and senior audiences
  • Self-starter with curiosity and problem-solving orientation
