Associate Transport Planner

Overview

In this role you will take ownership of transport planning projects within a growing team, guiding projects from inception to completion. You will lead client relationships, manage stakeholders, and mentor junior staff to support professional development. The position focuses on delivering Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans while contributing to the business’s strategic direction. You will engage in public consultations and help drive business development, shaping projects across commercial and residential developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception to completion
• Prepare and oversee Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and supporting documents
• Act as main point of contact for clients, authorities and stakeholders
• Lead and contribute to public consultation and engagement activities
• Manage and mentor junior team members and support their development
• Undertake project management including programme and financial management
• Support and drive business development to secure new work and strengthen client relationships
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across deliverables

Key requirements

• Significant experience in a Transport Planning consultancy
• Strong experience on commercial development projects
• Residential development experience would be highly desirable
• Experience leading project teams and managing staff
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience
• Experience supporting or leading business development and work-winning activities
• Experience managing or contributing to public consultation events and engagement processes
• Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills
