Your New Role

Our client are seeking an experienced HR Associate Director toprovide strategic and operational HR leadership across theFaculty. Working closely with senior academic and professionalservices leaders, you will develop and deliver people strategiesthat support the School’s wider objectives, acting as a seniorand trusted HR partner on complex people matters, organisationalchange, workforce planning, employee relations, academic careerprocesses and HR governance. You will lead and develop theFaculty HR team, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality,consistent and customer-focused HR service. The role has broadresponsibility for Faculty people activity, including recruitmentand onboarding, promotion and tenure, performance and reward,workforce planning, professional development, employee relations,HR policy, governance, financial planning and people data. Youwill lead the development and delivery of the Faculty HRstrategy, provide expert advice to senior stakeholders andidentify opportunities to improve HR services, processes andsystems. You will also champion positive people practices,collaboration, inclusion and organisational change, whileproviding strategic oversight of recruitment, senior and academicappointments, affiliate Faculty arrangements, induction andonboarding. A key part of the role will be overseeing promotion,tenure and academic review processes, ensuring these are fair,consistent, transparent and aligned with School governance. Youwill also lead Faculty performance management, salary review andreward processes, support workforce planning and resourceforecasting, and use workforce and people data to informstrategic decision-making.

Ensuring Your Success

Ideally, you will have significant senior-level HR experience,with a strong track record of operating as a strategic HR partnerwithin a complex organisation. You will be confident advisingsenior academic and professional services leaders on sensitiveand complex people matters, including employee relations casesthat may require external legal advice. Experience oforganisational change, workforce planning, recruitment, academiccareer progression, promotion and tenure processes will be highlydesirable. You will have a strong understanding of HR governance,employment legislation, policy and best practice, with theability to ensure processes are compliant, consistent andeffectively implemented. Strong leadership and people managementskills are essential, as you will lead, develop and providedirection to the Faculty HR team while promoting continuousimprovement and strong stakeholder relationships. You will behighly organised and commercially aware, with the ability tooversee HR budgets, financial approvals, workforce costs andresource allocation. Excellent communication, influencing andrelationship-building skills are essential, alongside the abilityto work collaboratively with senior leadership, central HR,Finance, workforce planning, recruitment and talent teams,academic committees and external professional advisers. A strongunderstanding of HR data governance, reporting and the importanceof accurate and reliable people information will also beimportant to your success in this position.
