Overview

In this role you will develop on a high-end, scalable e-commerce platform in Central London. You will leverage PHP/MySQL on a Linux stack to optimize performance and implement robust back-end logic, while applying best-practice front-end techniques. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable software and contribute to a fast-growing retail tech environment. Responsibilities

• Develop software using PHP and MySQL on a Linux stack
• Optimize databases and implement caching (Memcached, Redis, Varnish)
• Build back-end business logic with MVC/ORM patterns
• Follow best-practice front-end development with jQuery
• Contribute to development of a high-end, scalable e-commerce platform
• Collaborate with team and meet tight deadlines
• Potential server administration and Apache Mod Rewrite considerations (advantageous)

Key requirements

• 5+ years of commercial PHP/MySQL experience
• Linux server experience with database optimization
• Experience with caching technologies (Memcached, Redis, Varnish)
• Back-end logic development and front-end basics with jQuery
• MVC, ORM, HTML/CSS knowledge
• Ability to work independently or in a team under tight deadlines
