Overview
In this role you will shape hardware engineering at Alstom, delivering robust electronic designs for diverse systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers. You’ll drive quality, safety, and cost efficiency while applying best-practice design methods and continuous improvement. You’ll contribute to introducing new hardware concepts from planning through implementation and ensure alignment with site objectives. This is a chance to work on impactful rail technologies within a global mobility leader.

Responsibilities
- Provide hardware engineering support for a range of electronics systems ensuring specifications and quality standards are met
- Coordinate with production, project teams and external customers to align activities with objectives and budget
- Lead or assist technical investigations into hardware challenges and deliver timely solutions
- Recommend specification and process changes to improve reliability and performance
- Represent the Engineering team in meetings to resolve engineering challenges
- Support the introduction of new hardware designs from planning to full implementation
- Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations and Alstom Electronics quality standards
- Achieve KPI targets for Right First Time, efficiency, cost and service
Key requirements
- Electronics analogue & digital design knowledge
- Extensive hardware design experience in a relevant electronics business
- Education in Electronics Engineering to Degree level or equivalent
- Strong communication, self-motivation, teamwork and innovation in delivering high standards
