As an Associate / Team Leader in Building Physics, you will lead building physics services and guide a growing Manchester team. You’ll deliver performance and sustainability work across a varied project portfolio, mentoring junior engineers and maintaining client engagement. Responsibilities
- Lead building physics and performance services across diverse project types
- Oversee thermal modelling, energy assessments, overheating analysis, daylighting, and Part L compliance
- Provide technical leadership, QA, and review outputs
- Serve as main point of contact for clients, architects, and design teams
- Support growth and development of the Manchester building physics team
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and wider business development
- Mentor and line-manage engineers, supporting professional development
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Building Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Significant consultancy experience in building physics and energy modelling
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, energy standards, sustainability frameworks
- Experience with IES, DesignBuilder, or similar software
- Proven ability to lead projects and support junior team members
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
