Commercial/Contract Manager

Overview

In this role, you will provide commercial oversight to ensure projects align with client arrangements and the company’s strategy. You will manage major contracts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to protect interests and maximise opportunities. You will support compliance, drafting robust commercial documents with Legal, and coach teams on complex contract issues. The role focuses on delivering value through effective contract management within a high-stakes environment. This position offers the chance to shape contract practice and contribute to long-term client relationships in a regulated sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial oversight to ensure project delivery according to client contracts and company targets
• Manage key contracts and liaise with internal/external stakeholders on major agreements
• Promote contract awareness and advise on commercial matters to protect interests and maximise opportunities
• Draft and develop robust commercial documents with Legal
• Ensure organisation compliance with contract obligations and clearly communicate terms/financial aspects
• Coach and develop staff on best practices for handling complex contract issues
• Nurture client relationships to secure long-term delivery and value
• Participate in negotiating and finalising contracts prior to placement

Key requirements

• Proven experience in contract/commercial management with high-value, complex contracts
• Strong background in corporate finance including financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management
• Experience in complex negotiations and stakeholder management under high pressure
• Knowledge of contract terms and construction industry regulations and their application
• Experience contributing to process improvements to drive growth
• Experience drafting and developing commercial documents in collaboration with Legal
• Ability to ensure compliance with contract obligations and clearly communicate terms
