Overview

In this role you will design, develop and lead enterprise middleware solutions, focusing on SOA/ESB patterns and web services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integration-focused software and drive adoption of platform delivery standards. Your work will span POC development, RFP evaluation, and lifecycle delivery, shaping scalable Java-based enterprise applications. This is a hands-on, leadership-heavy position in a fast-moving tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, POC development, RFP creation and evaluation, design, development, implementation and close out)
  • Design and develop ESB/SOA/BPM middleware layers using tools like Mule ESB, jBPM
  • Architect and build J2EE-based web applications (JSP, Servlet, JDBC, JMS, JAXB)
  • Develop SOAP and REST web services and open API solutions using Spring with XML/JSON/XSLT
  • Implement enterprise application integration (EAI) using ESB products (Fuse, Camel, TIBCO, IBM message broker)
  • Gain adoption of platform delivery processes, standards and procedures
  • Work in an Agile environment (KanBan) and contribute to build/release processes (Maven, Ant)
  • Experience with databases (Oracle SQL) and application servers (Tomcat/WebLogic/WebSphere/JBOSS EAP)

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ software development experience
  • Strong Java expertise with Spring MVC, Apache CXF, and Dozer
  • Extensive SOA/ESB middleware experience (Fuse, Camel, TIBCO, IBM message broker)
  • Design and development of ESB/SOA/BPM middleware using Mule ESB, jBPM
  • J2EE/Web services proficiency (SOAP/REST; XML/JSON; XSLT)
  • Hands-on leadership across SDLC and POC/RFP activities
  • Oracle SQL experience; familiarity with Tomcat/WebLogic/WebSphere/JBOSS EAP
  • Experience with build/release tooling (Maven, Ant) and Agile (KanBan)
