Overview

In this role you will ensure industrial offers are technically sound and commercially compelling. You will work with regional sales to craft end-to-end technical offers and select system architectures for heating, cooling, water transfer, and high-pressure applications. You’ll build energy savings, ROI, and lifecycle cost models, and perform site assessments and process audits. The position combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration and international scope from a Manchester base, with travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end creation of technical offers for industrial customers
  • Select and specify the right solution architecture across Heating, Cooling, Water Transfer, and High-Pressure Applications
  • Ensure offers are technically accurate and application-appropriate
  • Build energy savings calculations, ROI models, and lifecycle cost cases
  • Engage with plant engineers, process managers, and energy managers
  • Conduct site assessments and process audits to map system architectures
  • Analyse P&IDs and process schematics
  • Collaborate with regional sales teams to align technical and commercial aspects

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 8-12 years of experience in cooling towers, chillers, industrial pumps & process environments (metals, mining, cement, food & beverage, or similar)
  • Experience in application engineering, technical offer creation, or process engineering roles
  • Ability to read, interpret, and commercially analyse P&IDs and process schematics
  • Competency in parallel operations such as boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers
  • Solution architecture capability for process applications (designing system-level solutions)
  • Ability to build energy savings calculations, ROI models, and carbon reduction cases from first principles
  • Familiarity with industrial protection classes, IP ratings, and hazardous area compliance requirements
