Overview

As an Energy Market Data Analytics specialist, you will bridge data engineering, quantitative modelling, and power trading to support short-term trading and portfolio decisions across European and US markets. You will own and evolve core models and data infrastructure, ensuring reliable analytics feed into trading decisions while partnering with hedging, portfolio management, and investment teams. You’ll translate complex analysis into actionable insights for leadership and help scale data products like Clean Haven. This role blends technical execution with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, market-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the team’s data lake infrastructure and scalable data pipelines
  • Own and evolve the market fundamental model, ETRM system, and quantitative models
  • Build short-term market analytics models to support trading decisions
  • Provide quantitative support to portfolio management and hedging teams to optimize positions
  • Regularly report outputs to leadership, translating analysis into insights
  • Collaborate with the Data team to contribute to the Clean Haven data product
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems with asset management and investment teams
  • Document systems and processes for continuity and knowledge transfer
  • Own and maintain the Power Hedging team’s source control repository

Key requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analytics and modelling; JavaScript is a plus
  • Solid understanding of European power markets and price fundamentals
  • Experience with automation tools and building repeatable workflows
  • Practical experience applying LLM tools in an analytical context
  • Strong data modelling and architecture principles
  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders
