Overview

In this role you join a well-regarded national Employment & HR team to advise a diverse employer client base from SMEs to nationals. You will handle a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work, including tribunal litigation and advisory duties, with a focus on impactful, business-relevant solutions. The position offers exposure to high-value disputes, HR policy work, and transactional employment support within a supportive, career‑driven culture. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive client relationships and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Employment Tribunal claims from inception to final hearing
  • Handle complex and high-value employment disputes
  • Provide day-to-day HR and employment law advisory support
  • Draft and review contracts of employment, policies and staff handbooks
  • Draft settlement agreements and conduct exit negotiations
  • Advise on employment-related data protection matters
  • Support redundancy and restructuring projects
  • Assist with corporate support and transactional employment work as needed
  • Address disciplinary, grievance, and performance management matters
  • Advise employer clients across a broad spectrum of employment law matters

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years PQE in a recognised employment practice
  • Strong experience advising employer clients across a broad spectrum of employment law matters
  • Experience managing Employment Tribunal claims from inception to conclusion
  • Comfort handling disclosure exercises, witness statements and case preparation
  • Excellent technical knowledge across both contentious and advisory employment law
  • Experience drafting contracts, policies, handbooks and settlement agreements
  • Strong drafting, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage own caseload effectively
  • Interest in business development and growing client relationships
  • Experience supporting corporate transactions and business transfers is advantageous but not essential
