Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will support planning, design and delivery of cabling works within the BTNO project, coordinating site activities and ensuring safe, on-time, within-budget execution. You’ll formalise engineered solutions, monitor progress, and assist with commissioning and handover. You work closely with the Project Manager and wider team to drive risk-managed delivery and continuous improvement. This role offers hands-on leadership in a safety‑focused, infrastructure project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support HV cabling delivery across the BTNO project
  • Manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities
  • Review technical drawings and engineering documents
  • Produce and review RAMS and safety documentation
  • Monitor project progress, quality and programme performance
  • Support risk management processes and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist with procurement of plant, materials and subcontract services
  • Maintain accurate project records and report progress to stakeholders
  • Promote Zero Harm culture and ensure HSE compliance
  • Support commissioning, handover and project close-out activities

Key requirements

  • Experience as a Project Engineer in power, utilities, construction or infrastructure projects
  • Experience delivering cabling, civils or electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and site-based project delivery
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate resources
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • A formal engineering or construction qualification, or equivalent industry experience
  • CSCS and SMSTS (or equivalent) preferred
  • APM qualifications or willingness to develop them advantageous
