Overview

In this role, you will join the finance team supporting stock management for telecoms satellites and major space programmes. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement and other departments to manage the full inventory lifecycle and analyze cash flow, balance sheet impacts, and forecasted inventory needs. You will provide commercial insight through targeted reporting, support audits, and contribute to the five-year plan and rolling forecasts. This position offers development opportunities toward a Project Controller role on larger programmes within a cutting-edge space company.

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end processes: journalling, data verification, and assess inventory-related cash flow and balance sheet effects
  • Analyze inventory accounts driven by procurement activities and forecast inventory levels
  • Provide actionable financial insights via reporting and analysis, highlighting inventory risks and opportunities
  • Maintain and improve stock financial management processes and tools
  • Drive budgeting and forecasting aligned with the 5-year plan and quarterly forecasts
  • Support audit activities and respond to internal/external audit inquiries

Key requirements

  • Stock control background in industries like automotive, aerospace, defence, maritime, construction, railways or similar
  • Experience translating accounting data into operational insights
  • Familiarity with inventory levels spanning from thousands to millions and long lead times (months to years)
  • Knowledge of IAS 2 and IFRS 15 accounting standards
  • Comfort working with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • Professional or Early Careers stage interest in space and stock management
