Overview

In this role you will drive the development of innovative consumer products from concept to production. You’ll work within the New Product Development team and collaborate across Design, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to balance performance, cost and manufacturability. You will tackle complex mechanical design challenges, validate designs through prototyping and testing, and contribute to scalable product solutions. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and assemblies across the product lifecycle
  • Own engineering deliverables from concept to production release
  • Create manufacturable designs using DFMA principles
  • Maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, specs, and documentation
  • Perform analysis, tolerance studies, risk assessments, and design trade-offs
  • Plan and test prototypes to validate performance and user experience
  • Collaborate with Industrial Design, Electrical, Software, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
  • Support supplier engagement and manufacturing development for product industrialisation
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Contribute to product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance
  • Share engineering best practices and drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Degree in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Design Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical or product design within New Product Development
  • Experience in consumer products or household appliances is desirable
  • Strong understanding of plastics, manufacturing processes, and DFMA
  • Experience taking products from concept through production
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or Creo)
  • Experience planning and executing product validation and verification activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration
  • Appreciation for electronics, software integration, and user experience
