Overview
As an SHW Advisor, you will provide proactive safety, health and wellbeing and CDM guidance across Transmission projects, with emphasis on development, design, planning and pre-construction. You will work with project teams and stakeholders to identify and manage SHW risks throughout the lifecycle and support safe handover into delivery. The role supports a healthy, safe workplace and compliant delivery of complex infrastructure work. A key part of the role is applying practical judgment to influence design risk management.

Responsibilities
- Provide proactive SHW and CDM advice to Transmission project teams and directorates across development, design, planning and pre-construction
- Assist with compliance of CDM Regulations, Safe Systems of Work, and SHW Management System requirements
- Develop strategies to manage interfaces, temporary works, surveys, ground investigations and site clearance during construction
- Complete assurance activities on and off site, monitor SHW performance and support incident reporting and learning initiatives
- Support design risk management and Designer Risk Assessments, Pre-Construction Information and construction-phase planning
- Engage with designers, duty holders and contractors to promote safe delivery and robust handover into delivery and construction
Key requirements
- Experience applying SHW and CDM across construction or infrastructure projects
- Qualification in occupational safety, construction safety, CDM, or design risk management or related SHW discipline
- Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Experience supporting design risk management and safe systems of work
