Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial

Overview

In this role you will provide commercially focused legal guidance across strategic, commercial and corporate matters, partnering with stakeholders to support the organisation’s objectives. You will manage complex contracts, mitigate risk, and influence key business decisions within a collaborative legal team. The position is hybrid (1 day in office) with flexible hours, offering a substantial scope in a values-led, ethical financial services environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable business growth while upholding regulatory and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice across strategic, commercial and corporate matters
• .manage complex contractual matters and negotiate where required
• influence key business decisions and mitigate legal risk
• support delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives
• build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders
• work collaboratively within the Commercial Legal team and General Counsel Function

Key requirements

• Experience within financial services or with FS clients
• Strong experience advising on complex commercial, supplier, partner or outsourcing arrangements
• Qualified lawyer with significant relevant post-qualification experience
• Excellent drafting, analytical, research and negotiation skills
• Experience identifying, assessing and managing legal, regulatory, operational and commercial risks
