Overview

In this role you will own the pay, reward and payroll operations for a financial services business. You will work within the HR Operations function to ensure accurate, efficient and evolving payroll processes. You will lead the reward lifecycle, coordinate with the payroll provider and drive improvements in systems and controls. You will combine hands-on delivery with strategic process optimisation to support data-driven decision making. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on governance, efficiency and employee value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationship with the third-party payroll provider to ensure accurate, high-quality payroll service
  • Own end-to-end reward lifecycle: salary changes, promotions, annual pay reviews and other reward processes
  • Lead the annual pay review process: coordinate stakeholders, manage timelines and ensure accurate implementation
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR and other stakeholders to align payroll, reward and people data
  • Maximise Sage payroll system capabilities, improve automation, reporting, controls and efficiency
  • Support global mobility processes for internationally mobile employees and related pay/reward considerations
  • Ensure governance, controls and compliance across payroll and reward processes
  • Review and streamline HR operations processes to increase automation and efficiency
  • Produce and analyse payroll, reward and people data to inform decision-making
  • Act as SME on pay/payroll/reward topics and advise HR and wider stakeholders
  • Support broader HR projects requiring operational, systems, payroll or reward input
  • Operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, balancing detail with bigger improvements

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in HR operations, payroll and reward, especially in complex settings
  • Experience managing or overseeing a third-party payroll provider
  • Knowledge of the annual pay review and reward cycle
  • Experience with HR/payroll systems; Sage knowledge desirable
  • Track record of improving processes, systems and operational efficiency
  • Experience with global mobility or internationally mobile employees
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders across HR, Finance and the business
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with multiple deadlines
