Senior/Principal Medical Editor – FSP

Overview

As a Senior/Principal Medical Editor at Syneos Health, you help ensure medical documents meet regulatory expectations across FDA, EU, and other standards. You will lead editorial activities on complex medical writing projects, mentor editors, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality deliverables and contribute to process improvements. This role offers impact through shaping editorial quality in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment that advances patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Represent the editorial group on study teams and cross-departmental projects
• Monitor project timelines and budgets, flagging risks to stakeholders
• Provide technical support and mentor medical editors; train team members
• Lead complex or large medical writing deliverables, coordinating internal meetings and requirements
• Contribute to quality reviews and adherence to AMA style and internal guidelines
• Participate in process improvement and policy/procedure development for editorial work
• Manage projects per SOPs and client standards, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
• Potentially compile medical writing deliverables
