About the Role
As a Legal Assistant within the commercial property team, you will provide essential administrative and file management support to fee earners, helping to ensure smooth progression of transactions. You will be a key point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout their matters. Your work will contribute to efficient case handling, accurate documentation, and a consistently professional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fee earners with the day-to-day management of commercial property files from instruction to completion
- Prepare, format and proofread legal documents, correspondence and reports related to property transactions
- Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including telephone calls, emails and letters, ensuring prompt and professional client contact
- Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring all documents are accurately filed, indexed and easily retrievable
- Coordinate key dates, deadlines and appointments, including diary management and scheduling meetings
- Carry out routine property-related administrative tasks such as opening and closing files, drafting standard letters and updating case management systems
- Liaise with clients, solicitors, agents and other third parties to obtain information, chase documentation and provide updates on case progress
Key Requirements
- Proven administrative experience within a legal or professional services environment
- Experience working within property law, either residential or commercial
- Strong client communication skills, with a professional and confident telephone manner
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and maintain error-free records
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured and efficient manner
- Competent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, using initiative to support fee earners effectively
