Operations Manager – Japanese Trading Company

Salary: £27,000-£32,000 per annum (depending on experience and skills)

Location: London

Job status: Permanent

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00-17:00

Working arrangement: Office-based, Monday-Friday

Start date: ASAP

Our client is a trading company specialising in unique Japanese products, and is looking for an Operations Manager to support its growing UK business.

Operations Manager – Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operational activities, including stock, orders and deliveries.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure products are available when required.
  • Handle purchase orders, sales orders, invoicing and delivery arrangements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support the company’s E-commerce operations, including order processing, stock updates and customer enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate product, stock and order records.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages or overstock issues.
  • Support product launches, promotions and other commercial activities.
  • Help improve operational processes and ensure efficient day-to-day business operations.
  • Work closely with the management team and other departments to support the continued growth of the business.

Operations Manager – Requirements:

  • Previous experience in operations, order management, supply chain, stock control or a similar role.
  • Experience managing stock of B2C products would be advantageous.
  • E-commerce experience would be highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with suppliers, customers and external partners.
  • Good Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
  • Proactive, reliable and hands-on approach to work.
  • An interest in Japanese culture and products.
  • Japanese language skills would be an advantage, but are not essential.
