Mechanical Technician – Building Services
Insight Executive are working exclusively with an established FM service provider who are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.
Location: Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 + excellent benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Technician with a strong background in building services, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, heating or HVAC to join a well-established facilities management operation.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Fault-finding, testing, servicing and repairs across mechanical building services
- Maintaining boilers, pumps, heating and chilled water systems
- Working on calorifiers, pressure systems and associated mechanical plant
- Supporting ventilation systems, including AHUs, extract systems, fans and filters
- Responding to plant failures, alarms, leaks and service interruptions
- Completing accurate maintenance records through CAFM systems
- Working in accordance with permits, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Supporting emergency and out-of-hours maintenance requirements when required
About You
We’re interested in speaking with Mechanical Technicians who have:
- A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training
- A relevant Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent
- Experience within mechanical building services, facilities management, commercial, industrial or similarly regulated environments
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience with heating, ventilation, pumps, boilers or associated plant
- An understanding of safe systems of work, permits and mechanical isolation
- Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems
- A flexible approach to shift patterns, weekend working and emergency call-outs
