Resident Engineer

Overview

As a Resident Engineer on site at Jaguar Land Rover in Halewood, you will service and repair forklift trucks and other MHE. You join a skilled team focused on reliable maintenance and after-service support, helping to keep equipment safe and available. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, order parts, and complete paperwork to meet servicing targets. This role offers hands-on training across Linde’s full range of products and the chance to represent the brand on site.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain forklift trucks and on-site MHE and document work
• Perform routine maintenance with customers to meet servicing targets
• Carry out after-service repair work
• Identify and order spare parts efficiently
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Complete all required paperwork and data input on time
• Take on additional duties to ensure smooth department operation
• Participate in team discussions and training, assist with battery change areas when asked
• Act as an ambassador for Linde on site with a positive, can-do attitude
• Comply with Health and Safety rules, Linde Group standards, and KION Code of Compliance

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
• good verbal and written communication skills
• experience with forklift background or HGVs/agricultural/plant machinery
• ability to work with both mechanical and electrical aspects
• strong diagnostics, servicing, and repair skills
• good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• reliable and approachable; passionate about representing Linde
• full UK driving licence
