We’re currently recruiting for a Site Manager (Premises and Safety Support) to join a School in Solihullon a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in premises, facilities, maintenance, caretaking or Health & Safety who wants to play an important role in creating a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for children, young people and staff.

You’ll be joining a supportive specialist setting where safety, dignity and wellbeing are at the heart of everything they do. The role would suit someone who is practical, proactive and organised, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of the school site.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the school in maintaining a safe, secure and well-maintained building and grounds.
  • Carrying out minor repairs, routine maintenance, refurbishment and general handyperson duties.
  • Completing daily site checks, including checking doors, windows, gates, equipment and other areas of the premises.
  • Supporting with opening and closing the school site when required.
  • Carrying out routine Health & Safety and compliance checks, including fire and intruder alarm checks and Legionella reporting following appropriate training.
  • Identifying potential hazards and safety concerns, taking appropriate action and reporting issues to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Supporting with porterage and logistics, including moving equipment and accepting deliveries.
  • Keeping the school environment clean, tidy, safe and free from unnecessary clutter.
  • Supporting with seasonal site requirements, such as gritting pathways during poor weather.
  • Liaising with external contractors and supporting access to the school site during school holiday periods where required.
  • Maintaining accurate records and providing clear updates to the Senior Leadership Team regarding premises and Health & Safety matters.
  • Following all school safeguarding, Health & Safety and operational policies and procedures.
