Overview

In this role you will support energy, power and commodity trading clients by applying capital-structure expertise and corporate finance advice. You work with senior bankers to originate and execute episodic and strategic financings, helping cross-sell Citi’s platform while prudently deploying capital and managing risk. You will collaborate with product partners and risk teams to deliver market-leading insights and client-focused solutions that drive revenue and strengthen relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Bankers to provide relationship management support with sector expertise
  • Be a core member of deal teams supporting origination and execution of episodic and Corporate Finance transactions
  • Stay abreast of market trends, best practices, and the competitive landscape
  • Conduct risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including financial results, liquidity, projections, peer analysis, and industry outlook
  • Develop client pitch materials, lead execution of episodic financings, and foster ongoing client relationships
  • Assist with day-to-day activities across cash management, trading initiatives, FX, loan activity, and debt and equity capital markets
  • Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans, and forecasts to produce strategic and financial analysis
  • Develop deep understanding of client priorities and build strong internal relationships with product and risk partners

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in a financing-focused role such as corporate finance/debt advisory, project finance, or capital markets/investment banking
  • Ideally, prior experience in energy, power and commodity traders coverage
  • Strong corporate finance mindset with solid understanding of capital structure drivers
  • Strong credit skills and experience executing episodic transactions
  • Quantitative, accounting, and financial modelling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA or Master’s degree preferred)
