Logistics Coordinator – Freight Forwarding

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Coordinator specializing in freight forwarding to join their dynamic team in East London . This role is fundamental to managing the end-to-end process of international and domestic shipments, coordinating with carriers, customs agents, and clients to ensure smooth transit. You will be responsible for documentation, tracking, and problem-solving to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the movement of inbound and outbound freight, including sea, air, and land transportation.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and customs brokers to arrange and track shipments.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on shipment status and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with all international and domestic shipping regulations and customs requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or discrepancies to ensure timely delivery in East London and beyond.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of shipping processes, incoterms, and international trade documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
