Overview
In this role you will lead geotechnical projects from investigation through design and delivery, shaping outcomes across foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement and earthworks. You will work within a London team to deliver technically robust solutions while mentoring junior engineers. You’ll review investigations, perform calculations, and ensure high-quality delivery while engaging clients and peers. This is a senior opportunity to impact project direction, bids, and the growth of the team within a supportive, expanding practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical projects from investigation to design and delivery
- Provide technical input across foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement and earthworks
- Review ground investigation data and produce technical reports
- Undertake and review geotechnical calculations and design work
- Liaise with clients, contractors and other design disciplines
- Support and mentor junior and graduate engineers
- Contribute to bids, fee proposals and business development
- Take responsibility for technical quality and delivery of projects
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
- Significant experience in a geotechnical consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge across geotechnical design and ground investigation
- Experience managing projects and providing technical leadership
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status
- Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships
