Overview
In this role you will deliver the Principal Designer (CDM) responsibilities from inception to completion, acting as the client’s advisor across design and construction. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on a varied portfolio spanning residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Lead the Principal Designer role from project inception through to completion
- Act as client’s CDM advisor across design and construction stages
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on diverse schemes
- Advise on design risk and CDM compliance throughout lifecycles
- Support site inspections and understand construction site operations (advantageous)
- Engage with stakeholders to facilitate safe, compliant delivery across sectors
Key requirements
- Proven experience delivering the Principal Designer (CDM) role on construction projects
- Design background or relevant design degree (essential)
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation
- Experience advising clients and managing design risk throughout project lifecycles
- Site inspection experience and understanding of construction site operations (advantageous)
- APS, NEBOSH or similar accreditations welcomed but not essential (support to obtain qualifications)
