Overview

As a Linear Friction Weld Manufacturing Engineer in Annesley, you will support and develop the welding process to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive zero-defects, ensure compliance with standards, and implement improvements in manufacturing and digital systems. The role combines hands-on process development with data-driven capability improvements in a high‑precision aerospace environment. You’ll contribute to Rolls-Royce’s transformation toward a high-performing, resilient business and make an impact on critical aerospace components.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with HSE standards and Zero Harm expectations
  • Maintain design definition conformance and product specification alignment across internal and supplier processes
  • Investigate and resolve safety-related issues and drive zero defects
  • Promote Right First Time through risk reduction and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with RRMS, SABRe, Export Control, IP requirements and signatory duties where applicable
  • Identify and develop opportunities for new or improved processes and digital systems
  • Plan and manage activities (scope, schedule, resources, costs) with stakeholder buy-in
  • Develop and sustain manufacturing processes and digital systems to meet SQCD targets
  • Capture and analyze data to demonstrate and improve process capability
  • Share best practices with Manufacturing Engineering Commodity Leaders and Process Owners
  • Collaborate with interfacing teams to ensure technical clarity of processes and digital systems
  • Pursue self-development and provide coaching to colleagues

Key requirements

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (manufacturing, materials, mechanical)
  • Previous welding experience is essential
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Materials experience beneficial
